A rewarding Support worker position for a transitional service for young adults with Learning difficulties.
Your new company
A national charity that started in Stroud and expanded to cover most of the UK, they started with a group of parents who recognised there was a lack of support when their children with various Learning difficulties became adults. The charity was formed and since then they have grown tremendously and provide an exceptional level of care and support.
Your new role
The job is to work as a Support worker within their supported living services in the Forest of Dean, the job is allowing the residents to live the most independent life as possible. You will work closely with the residents to provide support with personal care, accessing the community and emotional support. This is a full time job based on 37.5 hours a week. The service its self is a transitional service for young people with Learning difficulties and complex needs.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have worked with Learning difficulties or other complex needs previously, ideally have a driving licence and an NVQ in Health and Social care although this is not essential. Above all a passion to work within Social care is something that is highly sought after.
What you'll get in return
An incredibly rewarding job, a competitive rate of pay which increases to £8.25 once you obtain an NVQ, if you have your NVQ the rate increases to this after a six month probation period. Great progression opportunities.
