Support Worker, New Milton, Adults with Challenging Behaviour, ongoing role

Your new company
We are working with a high profile organisation who supports adults with learning difficulties. They are expanding their services and are now looking for a Support Worker in New Milton to work in an 8 bedded home for clients who present challenging behaviour.

Your new role
Support Worker will be responsible for managing the behaviour of the service users on a daily basis. They can be verbally and physically aggressive and it's important to remember that their behaviour reflects their illness and is not directed at anyone personally. As a Support Worker you will be assisting the service users in various arts and crafts activities, trips to local facilities and helping them with their daily chores. You will be updating their care plans and liaise with healthcare professionals and management on the care package given.

What you'll need to succeed
All applicants will have previous experience of working with adults with challenging behaviour and mandatory training in care. You will have a positive outlook on life, good sense of humour and access to a car due to the location of the home. Good knowledge of challenging behaviour would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return
You will be working in a supportive setting of experienced care staff and management and will be given the opportunity to receive training on restraining techniques.
There is a variety of shifts available, mainly 12 hour long on both days and nights and the client is looking for staff who will offer continuity of care to the service users. Therefore we are looking for people who can commit to two or three days a week.
