Rare position available, Maintenance Manager for unique estate in Wiltshire. Permanent job salary around £40k

This is a permanent position for a maintenance manager to work within a unique environment based in the Wiltshire area.

Your new role
You will be reporting to the Head of Maintenance and facilities, to assist the Head of department and the Estate Land Agent by providing oversight of Building Maintenance. The role, in conjunction with the Head of maintenance and facilities is responsible for managing maintenance services through a dedicated maintenance team, working with the Land Agent, to plan and implement the Estate’s repair, maintenance and improvement programme through the effective use of dedicated in house maintenance team and contractors, working within budgets. You will prepare and invite fee tenders from external consultants for the detailed definition and specification of projects. You will advise Senior managers on the feasibility of, and to implement minor works of adaptation and improvement involving building works, ensuring compliance with CDM legislation.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need a thorough understanding of building regulations and legislation. Appropriate building profession qualification e.g. Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Building Surveyor, UCAS, CIB. Ideally a Membership of a professional body. Experience of working at a management level and supervising a team of other professionals. Proven experience of managing projects. Ideally you will have experience of dealing with historic buildings and their conservation. Project Management and Contractor procurement and management experience. You will have to come from a Maintenance background from planned and reactive knowledge, ideally looking after a maintenance team. Ideally you will have experience in managing a mixed property portfolio which includes grounds, commercial property and heritage buildings.
