Quantity Surveyor needed for an established high-end residential & refurb construction company in Oxford

Your new company
Specialise in high-end residential properties and refurb/restoration jobs between 800k-5million, they have built up a wide client base across the Oxfordshire market over the last 60 Years. The company still maintains a strong family run culture and are now looking for an experienced quantity surveyor to join the team on a permanent basis. The company view this as a role as a senior commercial position and require a candidate who can ensure these high-end projects run soundly, within budget and enable the company to grow further.

Your new role

  • Working on live projects from the point onwards once tender is won
  • Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be allocated a number of projects around the region that you will support in tandem.
  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
  • Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
  • Measure and value the work done on site
  • Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
  • Work on the procurement, pre-let and stat, cash-flows and CDRs
  • Manage the commercial and cost management aspects for the delivery of the programme of investment and planned works
  • Monthly external valuations and dealings with everything on the commercial side from orders to end
  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers

What you'll need to succeed

  • Ideally QS degree qualified
  • 4 or more years post degree experience, the majority of which is in refurb/restoration
  • Demonstrate experience of being lead surveyor on projects up to £3/4 M
  • Resides within 1.5hr of Oxford in any direction.
  • Shown longevity with previous employers
  • Exposure to MTC, competitive and negotiated procurement routes
  • Confident in dealing directly with customers, consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers
