Lifestyle Support Worker - Birmingham - Solihull - Adults - £8.22 ph + 40p mileage - Acquired Brain Injury

Your new company
A local charity based in Birmingham and Solihull are recruiting for a Lifestyle Support Worker to join their growing organisation. The organisation have been established since 1980's so have decades of experience providing a specialist service. Although a relatively small organisation, they are steadily growing and have gone from 1700 hours of support to providing 3000 hours of support over the last 12 months. This organisation help and support adults affected by acquired brain injury by offering services to meet the needs identified.

Your new role
As a Lifestyle Support Worker you will plan, prepare and deliver tasks set out within each person's individualised care plan. You will assist clients with their chosen tasks within their living environment; supported living, residential or their own home. You will support people who have acquired brain injury whilst promoting independence and taking into consideration the wishes and needs of the client. You will encourage activities to take place and support the client during this time such as shopping, visits to the cinema, visits to appointments etc. There may be some duties to complete ensuring the clients personal needs are met such as assisting with meal time, washing hair and toileting.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a good standard of reading and writing, it is desirable that you hold a NVQ Level 2 qualification relating to social care although this is not essential as further training will be provided. You will have experience working with adults who have acquired brain injury, learning disabilities or dementia. The successful candidate must hold a full clean driving licence and business insurance as the role will include local travel.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive rate of pay of £8.22ph as well as a mileage rate of 40p per mile. If you do not hold a suitable qualification you will be given the opportunity to gain a Care Certificate. The organisation will endeavour to provide you with regular clients local to you. You will receive training and development opportunities to enhance your career.
