We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is looking for a change of pace within their profession. This job is slightly more office based but you still have the opportunity to work with a Clinical caseload. The main duties involve:

Immediate Needs Assessments (INAs)

This involves visiting patients at home (or hospital) to assess their current situation and identify all of the needs following an accident, including: medical history, Injuries as a result of the accident, Current medical status/medication, Social situation, Home environment, Mobility, Psychological state, Personal Care and current employment. Following the home visit, the Case Manager will contact all the relevant parties, ie GP, specialists, employer, social services etc. The Case Manager then produces a standard report outlining all the relevant facts, including the actual needs of the patient.

Case Management

If the case moves to case management, the Case Manager is responsible for implementing all the needs outlined in the INA, acting as a patient’s advocate. This involves regular liaison with the patient, as well as his/her solicitor, the insurance company and all the specialists/employers etc. Case Management activities must always be conducted with regard to a positive impact on a “patient journey” in conjunction with a clear consideration of the costs involved. You must log all their activity on a computer database and produce monthly reports identifying the case progression for each patient.

Deputy Manager

A well established care provider based in Bedfordshire requires an interim Deputy Manager to join their busy team for a period of 3 months.

Main duties of the role will include assisting the Home Manager within a residential nursing unit for older people and those who are EMI. This will involve reviewing current care plans in place with clients, implementing a new rostering system and promoting the services within the community. Other duties include budgeting and maintaining professional relationships with external agencies and Social Services.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting older people and must be committed to ensuring a high standard of service in Social Housing or Social Care. The candidate must be available at short notice, be at least NVQ Level 3 qualified in Social Care, possess an enhanced CRB disclosure and have your own means of transportation.
