BASW is the only professional association for social workers in the UK. Their primary aim is to promote the best possible social work services for all people who may need them, whilst also securing the well-being of social workers who are their members. BASW is not a trade union, but they do offer an unrivalled Advice and Representation Service, as well as professional indemnity insurance cover for members. By joining the Association, members are committing to the values set out within their Code of Ethics.

The Social Care Association (SCA) is a professional membership association for anyone who works in social care.
Anyone who works in social care at any level, in any role and in any area can join SCA.

Over its history SCA has been involved in many of the key developments in social care (keyworking, personalisation) and has consistently aimed for the recognition of the professional nature of a care worker's role and the impact that a trained worker can make on standards of practice.

Care Week is a magazine based around nursing, care and the surrounding industry. The magazine offers industry news and general information, as well as interviews, products and features covering a wide range of subjects.
