Launched in January 2006, Help at Home is a new initiative jointly organized by Disability Action Waltham Forest (a registered charity aiming to enable disabled people to live independent, active and fully integrated lives) and Waltham Forest Carers Association Ltd. (a registered charity, providing a range of support to informal carers). Both registered charities operate within the London Boroughs of Waltham Forest and Redbridge. Help at Home is intended to form part of a holistic approach to the care and support needs of the types of people both charities support operating in conjunction with other projects.
Help at Home will deliver a service of personal care and associated domestic services to meet the needs of dependent clients (“Service Users”) in their own (home) environment. This will be achieved by promoting a standard of excellence which embraces fundamental principles of Good Care Practice that is observed and evaluated through the practice, conduct and control of quality care in the domestic environment .
Help at Home will at all times take account of the views of its service users in developing and providing its services as we believe in strong community and cultural values. We promote and sustain independent living, empowering clients and allowing them to live safely and with dignity in their own home by supporting them with professional care staff. Help at Home is a team of professional healthcare staff of various origins that helps us to provide domiciliary care services by understanding people’s rich and varied cultural needs and taking full account of the expectations and wishes of the service user.
