Sanctuary Care was established in 1995 to provide older people with high quality nursing and residential care. A significant development was the acquisition of Ashley Homes, part of Epsom-based Shaftesbury Housing Association. Sanctuary has purchased many care homes in the south east and east of England. The homes cater for older people and those with learning or physical disabilities. They also include supported housing and extra care.
