Mental Health Service Manager needed in Swansea for a temporary to permanent contract

Your new role

As a service manager you will be working on an ongoing temporary basis with full time hours (37.5 hours per week). As a service manager you will be working to deliver excellent accommodation and well-being related services to a range of clients with enduring mental health conditions within a 24 hour setting, which will include an element of community work. The support will be client centred, solution focussed, bespoke and designed around individual needs, which ensures the safety and wellbeing of the clients, and adds value financially and strategically to commissioners of the service. As a service manager you will will provide clear and accurate information on service performance internally to the SMT & Board as well as to commissioners and the regulator. This is essential to demonstrate the management of risk and the safeguarding of clients, as well as outcomes and individual client wellbeing. You will be responsible for managing budgets of the service and will be required to evidence value for money, and the added value of the service to commissioners and represent the organisation at a range of forums, and external events. Furthermore, as a service manager you will be recruiting, managing, supporting and developing a team of support workers, who will be responsible for the 24 hour running of the project on a rota basis.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful service manager you will be passionate about helping vulnerable people, supporting clients to move on from the service and live independently. To be successful you will need strong management experience with previous experience working in a supported housing unit and working with vulnerable people. To be successful you must have strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team. Furthermore, although this role is Monday-Friday, you must have a degree of flexibility within your working week.
