Business and Performance Officer

Our client based in mid Essex did an external review of its Strategic Housing Service and determined that there was considerable scope for improvement and substantial benefits and efficiency savings could be gained by implementing new working practices and systems. As a consequence, they have decided to establish an interim project team to work alongside the existing staff team to drive and implement a programme of transformational change whilst they determine the longer term organisation of the service.

They are looking for a Business and Performance Officer to develop new and revised policies, procedures, service standards and systems to improve the effective and efficient management and operation of the service. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Support the implementation of robust financial and budget management systems, including rent accounts
  • Prepare regular performance reports and ensure that information is collected and audited in accordance with government guidance for local and national KPI’s
  • Undertake performance benchmarking
  • Contract monitoring
  • Assist in the evaluation of current policies, procedures and business performance

To be considered for the role you will need knowledge and experience in relation to housing and homelessness services. You will also need:

  • Experience of developing new business processes and procedures
  • Good understanding of performance management and the role it plays in the effective management of a business
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and evaluate detailed information and complex data
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • High level of IT proficiency with specific experience of housing management systems and applications
