Home Ownership Officer

Home Ownership Officer based in Chatham paying £15.73 - £17.47 per hour, working for a large housing association.

Your new company
A Housing association based in Medway who own and manage about 8,500 homes with around 20,000 residents across Kent. This housing association build over 150 new homes a year and employs more than 250 people.

Your new role
As the home ownership officer you will join a team of 3 staff. The role will involve monitoring income due under service charges and chase for payment, taking forward measures to recover payment such as court action. Answering customer queries about service charges covering leasehold and shared ownership will all be part of the day to day duties. Experience in conducting lease enquiries and tenancy agreements to understand what obligations are required for service charge. You will deal with solicitors and leaseholders for day to day enquiries relating to sale of property, subletting, outstanding balance enquires, enquiries of managing agents or head leases. You will be confident dealing with projects such as gas inspections or replacement fire doors.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will need previous experience in a home ownership / mixed tenure role where you have been exposed to queries regarding tenancies and leases. Knowledge of section 20 is essential as well as an understanding of how and why service charge is calculated.

What you'll get in return
In return you will be offered a temporary contract for 3 months ongoing, an hourly rate of £ working hours are 37 hours per week and can be flexible between the hours of 8am – 6pm Mon – Fri.
