Support Worker needed for a full time ongoing temporary contract working with domestic violence services

Your new company

You will be working for a local supported housing provider who focuses on supporting vulnerable service users towards independence.

Your new role

As a support worker you will be working on a full time temporary basis with an opportunity to go permanent after 3 months. As a support worker you will be working vulnerable service users and their families who are escaping or escaped domestic violence. As a support worker you will be working with service users promoting independence and helping them to rebuild their lives. As a support worker you will be giving housing advice, promoting tenancy sustainment and advocating move on projects. As a support worker you will be providing floating support to service users in their homes carrying out support plans which may touch on other complex needs including homelessness, mental health and substance misuse. As a support worker you will successfully encourage service users to engage with their local community, tracking process in a solution focused way.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful support worker you must have experience working within a supported housing environment and supporting service users with complex needs. Although working experience in domestic violence isn't necessary essential you must have relevant knowledge of working with vulnerable people with complex needs. You will be working in a floating support role so access to a car is essential. As you are working with vulnerable people you must have a DBS or have the documents in order for us to carry out a free DBS on your behalf.
