Housing Officer needed for a housing association in Bristol for an ongoing contract

Your new company

You will be joining a forward thinking housing association in Bristol who are developing and growing at an exciting rate. You will be joining an organisation who focuses on their local community providing safe, secure homes to people in their local area.

Your new role

You will be working as a Housing Officer on a full time temporary basis in Bristol. You will be managing a patch of properties in the Bristol area managing tenancy sign ups, rent collection and anti-social behaviour reports. In this Housing Officer role you will ensure that the tenant has moved into the property, does not have rent arrears and is able to access all services that this housing association offers. You will be dealing with tenants who have complex backgrounds which may include substance misuse, mental health and homelessness, as well as a number of non-English speaking residents. You must display a high level of customer service at all times. As a Housing Officer your job involves assisting with resident involvement services to tenants and residents. As a Housing Officer you will be working closely with the Housing Manager, and are given responsibilities regarding pre-tenancy work, transfers and tenant liaison, as well as given the responsibility to ensure the built environment and surroundings are maintained to the highest standards. You will be expected to initiate and prepare papers as required to support a range of meetings, focus groups, panels, network meeting and training events to support resident involvement.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful housing officer you will need a passion for social housing and previous experience in a similar housing or supported housing role will lead to your success. You will have an ability to inspire and work with a team of staff to deliver excellent performance. You must be a team player providing support, but personally target driven with the ability to manage your own time and workload, and multi-task a variety of advanced tasks.
