Housing role in Hertfordshire

Tenancy Advisor
Hertfordshire
£13- £15 PH

Our client based in Hertfordshire is looking to recruit a Tenancy Advisor on a temporary basis to be responsible for providing a comprehensive tenancy management and support service to current tenants, former tenants and leaseholders. You will work closely with all customers of the housing service as well as colleagues in their teams and across all Council services.
You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure tenancy sustainment emphasising tenants and leaseholder’s responsibility to keep to the terms and conditions of their tenancy and or and lease agreement
  • Responsible for tenancy enforcement by taking appropriate action as and when required
  • Carry out an annual program of Tenancy Audits, (including Right To Buy audits and priority transfers
  • Carry out investigations for low level Anti-social Behaviour, ensuring that all cases are recorded and monitored. Referring cases to the ASB team where court action is deemed necessary
  • Responsible for general estate management, ensuring that the stock within their patch is maintained to a high standard
  • Carry out flat block inspections in line with targets and objectives ensuring that Health and Safety issues are addressed

To be considered for this role you will need experience of working in Housing Management, including Estate Management, Anti-Social behaviour, Tenancy Fraud, Customer Services and Tenancy Sustainment. You will also need the following:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both face-to-face, in writing and via the telephone.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and orally
  • Ability to meet targets, deadlines and service standards
  • Working knowledge of Housing Legislation and Best Practice
  • Practical knowledge of Welfare Reform and the benefits system
  • Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes including business insurance
