Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Agency - Central Birmingham - £24k pro rata - Part Time

Your new company
An independent fostering agency are looking for a newly qualified Social Worker to work within a small team in Central Birmingham. Their sole aim is to provide warm, safe, diverse and local placements for children and young people. They work closely with local authorities and other agencies to provide positive outcomes and fulfillment to children and young people. Your new company cover short term, long term, emergency, respite and sibling group placements through providing children with local foster carers to minimise the disruption a child may go through.

Your new role
As a Supervising Social Worker you will provide support to foster carers in all aspects of fostering. You will keep in frequent contact through regular visits and telephone calls to carers ensuring that the children and young people's placements are going well. You will identify training needs for carers and help them achieve learning and development objectives. You will be a part of monitoring progress of children, you will have the responsibility for the recruitment, assessment and supervision of a small caseload of foster carers.

What you'll need to succeed
This position is suited to a newly qualified social worker who may or may not have experience within an IFA. You will be registered with HCPC and hold a social worker qualification. You will be passionate and willing to learn and be developed throughout your career.
