Your new role
The council is looking for experienced and innovative social workers to join the Children with Disabilities team. You will work directly with children and young people with disabilities within the borough’s complex and culturally diverse community as well as engaging with their families. You will conduct assessments, risk analyses, planning interventions and direct work with children. As part of an integrated service, you will contribute your expertise in children’s social work practice to delivering a service of the highest quality for children with SEN and disabilities.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this service, you must be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • A breadth of post qualified safeguarding experience as a front-line children’s social worker
  • Experience of working with severely Disabled children
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary integrated service
  • Ability to timely complete high quality assessments, risk analyses and intervention plans
  • Passion and commitment to working with children and young people with disabilities

In addition to an extensive CPD programme and generous benefits, the council offers a starting bonus of £5,000 when you start, £3,000 bonus in your second year, and a £15,000 bonus in your third year of service. At 4-5 years of service, you will also receive 2 months of paid sabbatical leave.
