Enthusiastic Deputy Manager required to oversee a team providing an Outreach service to service users with complex learning disabilities
Job Description: * Assisting the Registered Service Manager with the day to day operation of supported living or community access services. * Managing in the absence of the Service Manager, with support from the Services Development Manager in line with organisational policies and procedures and legal requirements. * Ensuring a high quality, person centred service is provided at all times. * Assisting the manager to ensure that the service is provided in line with the Valuing People Framework, the GSCC codes of practice, the National Minimum Standards and current equality legislation. * Contributing to the development of the Business Plan and monitoring agreed strategies for service development are met. * Contributing to the periodic reviews of the Statement of Purpose and Service User Guide; this will be done in conjunction with the Service Manager, service users, team members and other stakeholders. * Monitoring that anti-discriminatory practices are followed at all times and that equality of opportunity is provided to both service users and team members. * Providing a safe working environment in which dangerous, discriminatory or exploitative behaviours are known to be unacceptable and are addressed. * Acting on internal and external audit requirements and recommendations as directed by the Service Manager and reporting all complaints, incidents and allegations in line with organisational policy and legislative requirements. * Contributing to and carrying out self assessments of the service provision, measuring achievements against stated criteria and identifying areas of improvement
Desired Skills: * NVQ level 4 in care or an RMA award * A1 Assessors award or commitment to work towards it * Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills * Ability to manage and delegate effectively * Ability to problems solve and formulate solutions * Experience of working in a senior position with people with learning disabilities * Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation * Experience of supervising and appraising staff * Experience of using Microsoft Word
